The purpose of Tea Party Favors
Tea party favors serve as a thoughtful token of appreciation for guests, making them feel special and giving them a little something to remember the event by. I’ve listed some reasons below on why it matters to give your guests a favor or small gift:
- As a Thank-You Gift Small favors are a good way to tell your guests you are happy they spent their valuable time to attend your tea party. Favors them your appreciation for their attendance.
- As a Memorable Keepsake. Your small gift to each quest will remind them of the lovely time they had at your special party event.
- A gift can Extend the Experience. When your guests take their small gift home, they can enjoy the reminder of your event even after it is over.
- The favor can Enhance the Theme of the Party. If your party was a themed one, the party favor makes the entire experience blend together.
- The Gift does Encourage Connections. Any personalized gift (such as notes or card) make the tea party experience feel closer to you as the host and the other guests.
Here are some ideals for Tea-Themed Favors:
- Mini Tea Sampler – you can gift little packets of loose-leaf tea or individually wrapped tea bags. (For my first hosted tea party I gifted each guest with their very own cute little teaspoon and a single herbal tea bag enclosed within a small drawstring bag.)
- Personalized Tea Bags – You can add a custom label with the guest’s name and a nice thank-you message from you .
- Honey Jars or Honey Sticks – Your favor can be a cool little jar or bag of honey or honey straws to use with their tea.
- Flavored Sugar Cubes – You can give guests some of the little Infused sugar cubes (they can be flavored with vanilla, rose, or lavender).
- Tea Infusers – A delightful gift would be a individual tea infuser for each guest. There are some really cute ones.
Edible-think about edible Treats:
- You can give each guest a mini jar of jelly or butter/marmalade
- Small, individual and wrapped cookies or biscotti make nice gifts.
- A nice gift I am giving at my next hosted party will be chocolate covered spoons for each guest. They are inexpensive and easily purchased from Amazon.
Elegant Keepsakes (these are well appreciated if your budget is adequate):
- Vintage Teacups – Each guest gets a unique teacup and saucer (thrift stores are great for this or you can get sets from Etsy)
- Mini Spoons or Gold Stir Sticks – Pretty and practical gifts.
- Pressed Flower Bookmarks – A delicate and useful favor that you can even make yourself.

- Consider presentation part of the experience, not just as an afterthought
- You want to provide personalized favors to show a unique touch and a positive memory.
My first tea party experience at a local Tea Room included small gifts for each guest and it really made an impression on me and gave me a nice warm feeling. You should definitely consider party favors when planning your own hosted Tea Party. It doesn’t have to be expensive, your guests will enjoy even small gifts of little tea bags presented in a pretty fashion.
